The cotton gauze used by BMC has larger links, allowing for better airflow, but the use of multiple layers of oil-soaked cotton allows for any impurities larger than 7 microns to be blocked.

General information

The cylindrical/panel air filter is commonly called a replacement air filter. It is installed in the original air box of the vehicle to replace the OEM air filter. It is made of high-performance materials that allow for greater airflow combined with more efficient filtration, ensuring the containment of all impurities from as small as 7 microns (compared to 10 microns for OEMs).

BMC air filters are manufactured using a Full Molding system that allows the characteristic red filter to be made from a single mold without welded joints, thus avoiding easy breakage. The rubber used in BMC air filter systems has a long life, is highly durable and has optimum adhesion characteristics to all shapes of airboxes.

BMC filters are made from a multi-layered cotton gauze soaked with low viscosity oil covered with an epoxy coated alloy mesh to ensure protection against petrol vapours and oxidation due to air humidity.

All BMC air filters are pre-oiled and can be washed and regenerated using the appropriate BMC regeneration kit.
