The Cotton gauze used by BMC has larger links, allowing for better airflow, but the use of multiple layers of oil-soaked cotton allows for any impurities larger than 7 microns to be blocked.

General information

The cylindrical/panel air filter is commonly referred to as a replacement air filter. It is installed in the vehicle's original air box to replace the OEM air filter. It is made from high-performance materials that allow for greater airflow combined with more efficient filtration, ensuring that all impurities from as small as 7 microns are contained (compared to 10 microns for OEMs).

BMC air filters are manufactured using a Full Molding system that allows the characteristic red filter to be made from a single mold without welded joints, thus avoiding easy breakage. The rubber used in BMC air filter systems is long-lasting, highly durable and has optimal adhesion characteristics to all shapes of airboxes.

BMC filters are made from a multi-layer cotton gauze soaked with low viscosity oil covered with an epoxy-coated alloy mesh to ensure protection against gasoline vapors and oxidation due to air humidity.

All BMC air filters are pre-oiled and can be washed and regenerated using the appropriate BMC regeneration kit.
