What is an oxygen sensor/lambda probe?

The oxygen sensor is located in the exhaust system before the catalytic converter to measure the amount of oxygen remaining in the exhaust gases. Some vehicles may have a second sensor after the catalytic converter for more accurate measurements.

Excessive oxygen indicates inefficient combustion and therefore the ECU uses the sensor data to adjust the fuel mixture for better efficiency and reduced emissions.

The HealTech Electronics OSE-05 Lambda/Oxygen Sensor Emulator allows you to bypass/remove the exhaust Lambda sensor and prevents the “FI” error on the dashboard.
