ARA Functions

Motorcycles equipped with ABS already have speed sensors on both wheels, so it is easier to install the ARA on these motorcycles.

For motorcycles without ABS, a speed sensor with a ring must be installed on the wheel without a sensor (usually on the front wheel). Although speed sensor kits are available in various sizes, installation can be more complicated and requires mechanical skills/some modifications to fit the sensor ring securely.

Traction Control / Anti-Wheelover Control ("AW-TC")

There are 12 levels of control available, to suit your preferences and riding styles, ensuring that wheel grip/traction is always maintained, even with the most powerful sportbikes and the most demanding riders.

Launch Control ("LC")

Maximize your take-off speed and acceleration without the danger of wheelies.

Maximum Speed Limitation (Pit Lane Limiter - "PIT")

Set your maximum speed or pit lane speed. Activated by a dedicated switch. Avoid penalties in races or set a limit for less experienced riders.

All ARA components are available separately here.

ARA Installation

The ARA requires a speed signal from both wheels. This lets it know when one wheel is losing traction and therefore when to control power.

Typical Installation Steps

Connect the ARA wiring harness to the ignition coil wires. For this, a plug & play wiring harness or a direct connection can be used, depending on the bike.

Connect the ARA wiring harness to the ABS module (two direct connections) or install the speed sensor disc for bikes without ABS.

Connect the ARA wiring harness to the clutch switch signal wire.

Connect the ARA wiring harness to a 0v/ground point.

Install the switch on the handlebar.

Install the ARA status LED.

Installation guides with photos are available on the Healtech website, under the ARA section.

Installing the HealTech iQSE Semi-Automatic Transmission with the ARA

If your bike requires a QSE type QSH-Pxx wiring harness to the coils, the ARA-Kxx wiring harness is installed between the bike's original wiring harness (ECU) and the QSH wiring harness, NOT between the QSH wiring harness and the coil.

Settings

All ARA module settings are managed wirelessly via Wifi using the ARA app (Android/Apple): There is no need to physically access the ARA module after installation.

For bikes equipped with ABS: plug and play wiring harnesses are available to make installation easier.

On bikes without ABS: an additional speed sensor ring must be installed for use with the ARA.

Please note that the ARA is only compatible with bikes that have a transistor ignition (TCI). It is not compatible with older bikes that have capacitor discharge ignition (CDI).
